VOJNY A OZBROJENÉ KONFLIKTY PO SKONČENÍ STUDENEJ VOJNY – PRÍSTUPY KU KLASIFIKÁCII

Abstract: The aim of the diploma thesis „Wars and Armed Conflicts after the Cold War End - Approaches to Classification“ is to analyze the development of wars’ and armed conflicts’ nature within the last 20 years based on their close, and yet antagonistic relationship with the security of the individual and of the society. Thus, the first chapter determines and further examines the term security at the individual level as well as at the level of broader society groups and state, i.e. at the international relations’ level. Simultaneously, it works closely with the multidimensional nature of the security. The second chapter analyzes the term conflict and subsequently, the terms armed conflict and war with their various aspects. It pursues more consistently their new attributes in comparison to the appearance prior to the Cold War End. The third chapter tracks some of earlier analyzed phenomena using the example of the conflict in Darfur. The chapter investigates the historical background of the conflict, its current conditions and their consequences – humanitarian crisis, attitude of the global community towards the situation and genocide designation, as well as the possibilities of conflict resolution.

Abstract: Cieľom diplomovej práce „Vojny a ozbrojené konflikty po skončení studenej vojny - prístupy ku klasifikácii“ je analýza vývoja charakteru vojen a ozbrojených konfliktov za posledných 20 rokov vychádzajúc z ich blízkeho, i keď antagonistického vzťahu k bezpečnosti jednotlivca i spoločnosti. Prvá kapitola definuje a ďalej skúma pojem bezpečnosť na individuálnej úrovni, ako i na úrovni väčších spoločenských celkov a štátu resp. na úrovni medzinárodných vzťahov. Zároveň úzko pracuje s multidimenzionálnym charakterom bezpečnosti. Druhá kapitola vychádza z pojmu konflikt a následne na ňom rozoberá pojmy ozbrojený konflikt a vojna spolu s ich rozličnými aspektmi. Dôslednejšie sa venuje najmä ich novým charakterovým črtám v porovnaní s podobou spred konca studenej vojny. Prínos tretej kapitoly spočíva v názornej demonštrácii niektorých prv analyzovaných fenoménov na konflikte v Dárfúre. Kapitola sa zameriava na historické pozadie konfliktu, súčasný stav a jeho následky - humanitárnu krízu, postoj medzinárodného spoločenstva k situácii a k označeniu stavu za genocídu, ako i možnosti riešenia tohto konfliktu.
