The Ethical Principles of a Healthcare Worker

Abstract:

ABSTRAKT Cíl: Bakalářská práce se zabývá problematikou etických principů zdravotnických pracovníků a jejich dodržováním. Cílem této práce je zjistit, jak sami zdravotničtí pracovníci vnímají vlastní dodržování etických principů a jaké mají znalosti těchto principů. Dílčí cíle se zabývají přístupy zdravotnických pracovníků k dodržování povinné mlčenlivosti, k principu autonomie, k principu justice, neškodění a beneficience ve zdravotnických zařízeních. Metodika sběru dat: Průzkumný soubor tvořilo sto dvacet pět respondentů pracujících na různých pozicích, rozlišného vzdělání a délky praxe v Nemocnici Podlesí, a.s. v Třinci. Šetření probíhalo formou nestandardizovaného dotazníku, který obsahoval 11 uzavřených otázek. Průzkum byl anonymní a probíhal v měsících listopad 2011 ? leden 2012. Výsledky: Při průzkumném šetření bylo zjišťováno, zda zdravotničtí pracovníci mají informace o etických principech, a jestli tyto principy dodržují. Z výsledků vyplývá, že zdravotničtí pracovníci mají znalosti o dodržování těchto principů, ale jsou i zdravotničtí pracovníci, kteří tyto principy znají, ale přesto se jimi neřídí. Závěr: Osvojení si a řízení se etickými principy zdravotnického pracovníka je jednou ze stěžejních prvků této profese. Důraz je kladen na všechny zdravotnické pracovníky. Dodržování etických principů je důležitou a nedílnou součástí každého zdravotnického pracovníka, proto by měly být neustále připomínány, a v praxi jejich dodržování ověřováno u všech zdravotnických pracovníků.

Abstract:

ABSTRACT Aim: This thesis deals with ethical principles of healthcare workers and their observance. The aim of this work is to find out how medical workers perceive their own ethical principles and what knowledge of these principles they have. Component targets deal with how healthcare workers comply with mandatory confidentiality with the principle of autonomy, the principle of justice, innocuousness and beneficence in health facilities. Methodology: The exploratory sample consisted of one hundred twenty-five respondents working in different positions, varying in length of education and experience in Podlesí Hospital Inc. in Třinec. The investigation took the form of non-standardized questionnaire which included 11 closed questions. The survey was anonymous and conducted in the months November 2011 till January 2012. Results: The exploratory investigation examined whether healthcare professionals have information about the ethical principles, and if these principles are met. The results shows that healthcare professionals are knowledgeable about compliance with these principles, but there are healthcare professionals are familiar with these principles, but they do not follow them. Conclusion: Acquisition and management of the ethical principles of medical staff is one of the key elements of this profession. Emphasis is placed on all healthcare workers. Adherence to the ethical principles is an important and integral part of every healthcare worker and they should always be remembered and their compliance verified with all healthcare workers in practice.
