Design and implementation of a framework for automating the development of data warehouses on the Microsoft Azure platform

Abstract:

Tvorba Business Inteligence řešení obsahuje řadu opakujících se, i když nutných a činností a úkolů. Možností, jak zrychlit vývoj a snížit nákladovost projektu tvorby Business Intelligence řešení, je použití automatizace pomocí frameworku, jehož návrhem a tvorbou se zabývá tato práce. První části diplomové práce je věnována problematice vývoje frameworku od sběru a specifikace požadavků až po nasazení do prostředí zákazníka. Druhá část práce popisuje proces vývoje konkrétního frameworku pro podporu vývoje Business Intelligence řešení postavených na platformě Microsoft Azure. Framework je vyvinut na základě požadavků managementu i vývojářů oddělení datové analytiky firmy Seyfor. Hlavním přínosem je vyvinutý framework, který může být zájemci přepoužit pro jejich projekty a tuto práci mohou využít jako dokumentaci frameworku. Popřípadě mohou být využity vzorové zdrojové kódy, které řeší konkrétní úlohy v rámci frameworku.

Abstract:

Creating a Business Intelligence solution involves a series of repetitive, but necessary activities and tasks. A way to speed up the development and reduce the cost of the project of creating a Business Intelligence solution is to use automation through the use of a framework, the design and creation of which is the focus of this thesis. The first part of the thesis describes development of the framework from requirements gathering and specification to deployment in the customer environment. The second part of the thesis describes the process of developing a specific framework to support the development of Business Intelligence solutions built on the Microsoft Azure platform. The framework is developed based on the requirements of the management and developers of the data analytics department of company Seyfor. The main benefit is the developed framework that can be reused by interested parties for their projects and they can use this work as documentation of the framework. Alternatively, sample source codes which solve specific tasks within the framework, can be used.
