Motivation to engage in physical activity during Lockdown during the COVID-19 pandemic in the adult population

Abstract:

Rigorózní práce se zabývá zjištěním motivace k pohybové aktivitě u dospělých osob v době lockdownu. Výzkumu se zúčastnilo 3900 respondentů z celé České Republiky. Záměrem práce je najít determinanty, které vedly respondenty k pohybu i v době kdy sportování bylo značně omezeno. Zjistit jejich nárůst či úbytek v objemu a frekvenci vykonávané pohybové aktivity. Pro statistické zpracování dat bylo zvoleno využití neuronových sítí. Definovat motivaci a motivační nástroje, které osobám pomáhaly vypořádat se s izolací a absencí pohybu. Z výsledných dat vyplynulo, že se obyvatelům po čas restriktivních opatření během pandemie zhoršilo jak duševní, tak i fyzické zdraví. Zajímavostí byl fakt, že osoby zvyklé na pohyb hledaly cesty jak k němu dojít i za předpokladu, že budou porušovat vládou nařízená protipandemická opatření.

Abstract:

The thesis deals with the determination of motivation for physical activity in the population during lockdown. The research involved 3900 respondents from the Czech Republic. The thesis aims to find the determinants that led the respondents to exercise even in times when sport activities were significantly reduced and find out their increase or decrease in the volume and frequency of physical activity. The use of neural networks was chosen for statistical data processing. To define the motivation and motivational tools that helped people cope with isolation and lack of exercise. The data showed that the mental and physical health of the residents deteriorated during the restrictive measures during the pandemic. Interestingly, people familiar with physical activity sought ways to access it, even while violating government-mandated anti-pandemic measures.
