Trends in Research of Cross-Cultural Differences in Holistic Versus Analytic Cognitive Style: A Systematic Review

Abstract:

S rostoucím množstvím literatury o mezikulturních rozdílech v kognici a vnímání vznikla potřeba vytvořit systematickou rešerši mezikulturního výzkumu analytického a holistického kognitivního stylu za posledních 20 let. Cílem této práce je shrnout a porovnat zjištění ze sta zahrnutých studií o charakteristikách těchto studií, jako jsou srovnávané země nebo kultury, a dalších populačních metrikách, a poskytnout přehled metod měření analyticko-holistického kognitivního stylu a zanalyzovat výsledky z každé studie. Statistická data ze zahrnutých studií budou použita jako základ pro budoucí metaanalýzu.

Abstract:

With the growing body of literature on cross-cultural research on cognition and perception, a systematic review of cross-cultural research on analytic and holistic cognitive style over the last 20 years is necessary. This review aims to summarise and compare findings of the one hundred included studies on study characteristics, such as countries or cultures compared, and other population metrics, and to give an overview of methods of measurement of the analytic-holistic cognitive style used in the studies and to analyse the results of each study. The statistical data from the included studies will be used as a foundation for a future meta-analysis.
