Preparation of clients of children's shelters in the Pardubice region for a subsequent economically active life between 2015 and 2019

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na přípravu klientů dětských domovů v Pardubickém kraji na následný ekonomicky aktivní život v letech 2015 až 2019. Teoretická část je zpracována formou literární rešerše a věnuje se jak ústavní výchově a jejímu zasazením do kontextu sociální politiky, tak činnostem dětských domovů v přípravě a podpoře dětí na samostatný život. Druhá část je věnována obecně finanční gramotnosti a přístupům v jejím vzdělávání. V praktické části byl proveden kvalitativní i kvantitativní výzkum. V kvalitativním výzkumu byla použita metoda polostrukturovaného rozhovoru s vedoucími pracovníky všech dětských domovů v Pardubickém kraji. Otázky byly zaměřeny na postupy v přípravě dětí na ekonomicky aktivní život. Zjištěné informace byly zpracovány formou kódování. V kvantitativním výzkumu bylo provedeno dotazníkové šetření, které ověřuje reálný ekonomický rozhled, úroveň finanční gramotnosti a vnímání role dětského domova u dětí ve věku od patnácti do dvaceti šesti let. Zjištěná data byla statisticky vyhodnocena a zanesena do grafů. Výsledky obou výzkumných metod jsou interpretovány v souladu s kontextem cílů práce. Výsledky ukazují, že činnosti dětských domovů Pardubického kraje v přípravě odpovídají Standardům kvality péče o děti ve školských zařízeních pro výkon ústavní a ochranné výchovy a preventivně výchovné péče z roku 2018. Nicméně byly odhaleny nedostatky zejména ve vzdělávání dětí ve finanční gramotnosti. Dále byly zjištěny mezery v legislativním pokrytí některých kroků v přípravě klientů na odchod ze zařízení. Práce proto navrhuje opatření za účelem zlepšení současného stavu a zvýšení pravděpodobnosti začlenění klientů do ekonomicky aktivního života.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis focuses on the preparation of clients of children's shelters in the Pardubice region for a subsequent economically active life between 2015 and 2019. The theoretical part is elaborated by the form of a literary search and focuses both on institutional education and its inclusion into the social policy context and on the activities of children's shelters in children´s preparation and support of their self-reliant life. The second part is generally devoted to financial literacy and approaches in its education. Qualitative and quantitative research was carried out in the practical part. In qualitative research, the method of semi-structured conversation was used with managers of all children's shelters in the Pardubice region. The questions were focused on the procedures in children´s preparation for their economically active life. The collected information was processed by the form of coding. In quantitative research, a questionnaire inquiry was carried out to verify the real economic insight, the level of financial literacy and the perception of the role of children's shelters of children from fifteen to twenty-six years of age. The detected data was statistically evaluated and plotted on graphs. The results of both research methods are interpreted according to the context of the work objectives. The results show that the preparation activities of children's shelters in the Pardubice Region comply with the Standards of quality of childcare in school facilities for institutional and protective care and preventive care from year 2018. However, shortcomings in the education of children in financial literacy were revealed. In addition, some gaps were identified in the legislative coverage of some steps in clients ‘preparation for leaving the facility. That is why this work proposes some measures to improve the current situation and to increase the probability of clients´ integrating into economically active life.
