Determinants of investment flows into Poland, the Slovak Republic and the Czech Republic

Abstract:

Téma této diplomové práce je Determinanty investičních toků do Polska, Slovenské republiky a České republiky v oblasti inovací a VaV. Cílem je zhodnocení a porovnání investičních prostředí Polska, Slovenské republiky a České republiky se zaměřením na určení potenciálních oblastí pro zlepšení investičního prostředí České republiky a určení hlavních determinantů investičních toků do těchto zemí v oblasti inovací a výzkumu a vývoje. V práci jsou za účelem porovnání atraktivity České republiky a vybraných zemí pro investory využity i rozhovory s reprezentanty BMW Vývojového Centra ČR, skupiny Accolade a pobočky CzechInvestu v Karlových Varech.V práci jsou využité analytické metody, specificky makroekonomická analýza k posouzení stavu ekonomik vybraných zemí, SWOT analýza investičních prostředí vybraných zemí a statistická analýza determinantů investičních toků do jednotlivých zemí. V práci jsou také na hodnocení investičních prostředí jednotlivých zemí využity podrobné hodnocení zemí indexem Ease of Doing Business a zprávou Global Competitivness Report, hodnocení technických vysokých škol ve vybraných zemích a investiční pobídky nabízené vybranými zeměmi se zaměřením na VaV a inovace.

Abstract:

The topic of this master’s thesis is Determinants of investment flows into Poland, the Slovak Republic and the Czech Republic in the area of innovation and R&D. The aim is the evaluation and comparison of investment environments of Poland, the Slovak Republic and the Czech Republic with a focus on identifying potential areas for improving the investment environment of the Czech Republic and finding the main determinants of investment flows to these countries in the area of innovation and research and development. Interviews with representatives of the BMW Development Center of the Czech Republic, the Accolade group and the division of CzechInvest in Karlovy Vary are used in order to compare the attractiveness of the Czech Republic and the selected countries for investors. Analytical methods, specifically macroeconomic analysis to assess the state of the economies of the selected countries, SWOT analysis of investment environments of the selected countries and statistical analysis of determinants of investment flows to each country. The thesis also uses detailed evaluations of countries by the Ease of Doing Business index and the Global Competitiveness Report, evaluations of technical universities in the selected countries and investment incentives offered by the selected countries with a focus on R&D and innovation.
