Celibacy through the eyes of laicized clergy

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se soustřeďuje na legitimizační a kritické diskurzy týkající se problematiky celibátu římskokatolických kněží. Cílem práce je prozkoumat přítomnost a prolínání těchto diskurzů u laicizovaných duchovních. Výzkumné otázky se zaměřují na to, s jakými diskurzy aktéři v průběhu života operovali a jak se dané diskurzy projevily na jejich jednání a prožívání. Teoretická část obsahuje vymezení pojmů a koncepcí opírajících se o sociální konstruktivismus, který představuje základní paradigma, z něhož vychází tato práce. Součástí je rovněž seznámení s typy duchovních formací a samotným celibátem, načež jsou prezentovány jednotlivé diskurzy. V empirické části je představen výzkum, jenž byl realizován pomocí hloubkových rozhovorů. Výsledky analýzy, jež byla z části realizovaná pomocí metody zakotvené teorie, jsou pak interpretovány s využitím paradigmatického modelu a koncepcí obsažených v teoretické části práce.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis focuses on legitimizing and critical discourses concerning the issue of celibacy of Roman Catholic priests. The aim of the thesis is to explore the presence and interpenetration of these discourses among the laicized clergy. The research questions focus on what discourses the actors operated with throughout their lives and how the discourses affected their actions and experiences. The theoretical section includes definitions of terms and concepts based on social constructivism, which is the basic paradigm underlying this thesis. It also includes an introduction to types of spiritual formation and celibacy itself, after which the various discourses are presented. The empirical part presents the research, which was conducted through in-depth interviews. The results of the analysis, which was partly carried out using the grounded theory method, are then interpreted using the paradigmatic model and concepts contained in the theoretical part of the thesis.
