Critical Social Work: Discourse Analysis

Abstract:

Cílem této práce je provést analýzu diskursu kritické sociální práce. Autor nejprve vymezuje teoretické rámce, ve kterých lze uvažovat o pojetí sociální práce. K tomuto účelu se obrací na koncept paradigmatu T. S. Kuhna a jeho adaptaci do sociální práce formou tzv. malých paradigmat sociální práce, v české tradici koncipovaných P. Návrátilem. Následuje konceptualizace kritické sociální práce za pomocí textu Radky Janebové a její hodnocení. Dále se autor věnuje problematice modernizace, modernity a tzv. druhé modernity. Na základě analýz osmi prací od třech autorů hledá znaky typické pro tuto druhou modernitu. Na závěr provádí analýzu diskursu kritické sociální práce v kontextu druhé modernity. Předmětem zájmu je, zda kritická sociální práce, v podobě konceptualizováné v tomto textu, dokáže reagovat na výzvy, které přináší sociální práci druhá modernita. Autor zjišťuje, že kritická sociální práce ve své obecné podobě skutečně reaguje na většinu procesů druhé modernity relevantních pro sociální práci.

Abstract:

The aim of this study is to analyze the critical social work discourse. The author first defines the theoretical framework in which one can reflect on the concept of social work. To do so, the author turns to the concept of paradigm of T. S. Kuhn and his adaptation for social work through the so-called small paradigms of social work, which were conceived in the Czech social work tradition by P. Navrátil. The conceptualization of critical social work using the work of Janebová follows, as its evaluation. The author also deals with the issue of modernization, modernity and so-called second modernity. Based on the analysis of eight works from three authors he looks for characteristic of this second modernity. In conclusion, the author performs an analysis of the critical discourse of social work in the context of the second modernity. The focus is on whether critical social work, as conceptualized in this text, can respond to the challenges posed to social work by the second modernity. The author finds that the critical social work in its general form genuinely responds to most of the second modernity processes relevant to social work.
