Cinderella in European Literature

Abstract:

Tato práce se zabývá porovnáním několika dostupných známých variant pohádky o Popelce, se kterými se čtenáři mohou setkat. Úvodní část je věnována teoretické oblasti pohádek jako literárního útvaru. Zabývá se vymezením pojmu této žánrové prozaické varianty, jejím možným tříděním, historií vzniku, významem a přínosem pro současného čtenáře. Ve druhé části je porovnáváno několik variant pohádky o Popelce. Pozornost je zaměřena nejen na nejmarkantnější rozdíly, ale i podobnosti, které všechny porovnávané varianty naopak spojují.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis The Cinderella in European Literature compares several available well-known variants of this fairy tale which readers may encounter. The introductory part concerns the theoretical background of a fairy tale as a type of short story. It deals with the concept definition of this genre prose variant, its possible classification, origin, significance and benefits for contemporary readers. The second part compares several variants of the fairy tale of Cinderella. It concentrates not only on the most significant differences, but also similarities which connect all the compared variants.
