Road passenger car transport in the EU: current trends and infrastructure changes

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce pojednává o trendech osobní automobilové dopravy a následných změnách v dopravní infrastruktuře ve vztahu k ekonomickému prostředí v EU. Cílem diplomové práce je zanalyzovat současnou dopravu, infrastrukturu a současné trendy v silniční automobilové dopravě v Evropské unii a na základě analýzy následně navrhnout možné změny v infrastruktuře včetně ekonomických souvislostí. Práce je rozdělena do tří kapitol. První kapitolou je teoretický úvod do problematiky dopravy včetně historického vývoje dopravy osob a zboží. Druhá kapitola se zabývá silniční automobilovou dopravou a infrastrukturou v rámci EU, kde první část se věnuje významu silniční dopravy zboží a osob pro EU a druhá část se zaměřuje na zhodnocení osobní automobilové dopravy a její postavení v rámci dopravy osob v EU. Třetí kapitola se již zaměřuje na vybrané trendy. První 3 podkapitoly poskytují základní přehled daného trendu včetně potřebné infrastruktury. Poslední částí třetí kapitoly jsou ekonomické souvislosti vybraných trendů na silniční dopravu osob včetně aspektů změň v infrastruktuře.

Abstract:

This thesis discusses the trends in passenger car transport and the subsequent changes in the transport infrastructure regarding the economic environment in the EU. The diploma thesis aims to analyze current transport, infrastructure and trends in road car transport in the European Union and, based on the analysis, propose possible infrastructure changes, including economic contexts. The work is divided into three chapters. The first chapter is a theoretical introduction to the transport issue, including the historical development of transportation of people and goods. The second chapter deals with road car transport and infrastructure within the EU, where the first part is devoted to the importance of road transport of goods and people for the EU and the second part focuses on the evaluation of passenger car transport and its position in the framework of the transportation of people in the EU. The third chapter concentrates already on selected trends. The first 3 subsections provide a basic overview of the given trend, including the necessary infrastructure. The last part of the third chapter is about the economic connections of selected trends for road transport of people, including aspects of changes in the infrastructure.
