Professional Boundaries in the Relationship between Social Worker and Client with Intellectual Disabilities

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá problematikou profesních hranic ve vztahu sociálního pracovníka a klienta s mentálním postižením. Metodou kvalitativního výzkumu s pomocí zakotvené teorie bude zjištěno, jak si sociální pracovníci budují profesní hranice, jaké konkrétní techniky či opatření k tomu využívají, jak pracovníci vnímají utváření hranic s klienty, jaká úskalí či limity mohou tyto hranice mít a jakým způsobem vstupují profesní hranice do jejich každodenní činnosti. Na základě nabytých poznatků proběhne diskuze výpovědí respondentů propojením s teorií, a tudíž potvrzení či vyvrácení teoretických konceptů v praxi.

Abstract:

The bachelor's thesis deals with the issue of professional boundaries in the relationship between a social worker and a client with mental disabilities. Using a qualitative research method grounded theory, the study aims to investigate how social workers establish professional boundaries, what specific techniques or measures they use for this purpose, how they perceive the formation of boundaries with clients, what pitfalls or limitations these boundaries may entail, and how professional boundaries affect their daily activities. Based on the findings, the discussion will integrate respondent testimonies with theory to confirm or refute theoretical concepts in practice.
