Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá analýzou hydrometeorologických extrémů v České republice. Jejím cílem je analyzovat novinové články deníku Svobodné slovo, vydání Brno–město, týkající se výskytu a dopadů hydrometeorologických extrémů na území České republiky v období 1961–1980. Zabývá se také událostmi, jež měly za následek lidské oběti. Zaznamenány byly všechny extrémy, které způsobily nějaké materiální škody či ztráty na lidských životech. Byla provedena klasifikace hydrometeorologických extrémů s jejich rozdělením na 10 typů plus jeden doplňkový typ. Dále byla sestavena databáze obsahující údaje o místě a času výskytu extrému, počtu postižených obcí, rozsahu škod, včetně stručného popisu události a její citace. Součástí práce je stručná fyzickogeografická a humánně geografická charakteristika České republiky, která slouží k vytvoření představy o provázanosti hydrometeorologických extrémů s reliéfem a místními klimatickými podmínkami. Během studovaného období bylo analyzováno celkem 1291 hydrometeorologických extrémů na území celé České republiky. Nejčastějšími extrémy byly sníh, ledovka a námraza, následovala konvektivní bouře, blesky a silný vítr, sněhová bouře a vichřice zimního typu. Nejvyšší četnost výskytu extrémních událostí byla zjištěna kolem roku 1968. V diplomové práci je dále věnována pozornost šesti vybraným výjimečným hydrometeorologickým extrémům, které svými dopady předčily ostatní extrémní události. Jsou diskutovány nejistoty spojené s dokumentárními prameny a časoprostorovou variabilitou extrémních událostí. Výsledky práce umožnují lépe poznat výskyt a intenzitu minulých hydrometeorologických extrémů, jakož i jejich dopad na socialistickou společnost. Práce rozšířila existující databázi hydrometeorologických extrémů Geografického ústavu Masarykovy univerzity o nové události a doplnila stávající zprávy o doposud známých extrémech.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis deals with the analysis of hydrometeorological extremes in the Czech Republic. It aims to analyze newspaper articles in the journal Svobodné slovo, Brno – město edition, concerning the occurrence and impacts of hydrometeorological extremes in the Czech Republic in the 1961–1980 period. It also concerns with events that have resulted in human casualties. All extremes that caused any material damage or loss of human life were recorded. The classification of hydrometeorological extremes was performed with their division into 10 types plus one additional type. Furthermore, a database was compiled containing data on the place and time of the extreme occurrence, the number of affected municipalities, the extent of damage, including a brief description of the event and its citation. Part of the thesis relates to a brief physical-geographical and human-geographical characteristic of the Czech Republic, which serves to create an image of the interconnectedness of hydrometeorological extremes with relief and local climatic conditions. During the study period, a total of 1291 hydrometeorological extremes were analyzed throughout the Czech Republic. The most common extremes were snow, glacier and icing, followed by convective storms, lightning and strong winds, snowstorms and winter winds. The highest frequency of extreme events was found around 1968. The diploma thesis also pays attention to six selected exceptional hydrometeorological extremes, which surpassed other extreme events with their effects. Uncertainties associated with documentary sources and spatio-temporal variability of extreme events are discussed. The thesis results allow a better understanding of the occurrence and intensity of past hydrometeorological extremes, as well as their impact on socialist society. The work extended the existing database of hydrometeorological extremes of the Department of Geography of Masaryk University with new events and supplemented the existing reports on hitherto known extremes.
