Implementation possibilities of a system of public bicycles in Brno

Abstract:

Tato práce se zabývá systémy veřejných kol a možnostmi realizace takového systému v Brně. Pro návrh systému veřejných kol pro město Brno jsou využity informace z teoretické a praktické části práce. V teoretické části práce jsou popsány základní principy systémů veřejných kol, jejich historie, fungování ve vybraných zahraničních městech a aktuální situace v České republice. V praktické části práce jsou představeny výsledky dotazníkového šetření s cílem zjistit aktuální postoje obyvatel města Brna k projektu systému veřejných kol. Provedeným šetřením bylo zjištěno, že 53 % respondentů má zájem využívat systém veřejných kol. Na základě výsledků dotazníkového šetření, rozboru zahraničních systémů a údajů od společnosti Homeport, s.r.o., je navržen pro město Brno tarif a umístění stanic kol a sestavena finanční a ekonomická analýza nákladů a přínosů tohoto systému ve třech variantách financování. Výsledky zjištěné finanční a ekonomickou analýzou nákladů a přínosů prokazují reálnost systému veřejných kol v Brně.

Abstract:

The thesis deals with bike sharing systems and the implementation possibilities of such a system in Brno. The theoretical and practical parts of the thesis propose a concept of a bike sharing system for the city of Brno. The theoretical part of the thesis describes the basic principles of bike sharing systems, their history, functionality in selected foreign cities and current situation in the Czech Republic. The practical part of the thesis presents survey results, its goal was to discover current attitudes of Brno's residents to the proposed project of a bike sharing system. The results of the survey show that 53 % of respondents are interested in using the bike sharing system. Based on the results of the survey, analysis of foreign systems and data from the company Homeport, s.r.o., a tariff and placement of stations with bikes are proposed and a financial and economic costs and benefits analysis of the system is given in three options of financing. The results of the financial and economic cost and benefit analysis prove the viability of the bike sharing system in Brno.
