Gamification for University Students

Abstract:

V práci se zabývám motivací studentů použitím gamifikace, tedy vložením herních prvků do Informačního systému Masarykovy univerzity. Pomocí vložení gamifikačních prvků chci ukázat, že lze zvýšit motivaci studentů a zlepšit vzdělávací systém jako celek. V práci popisuji, co je to hra a proč lidé hry hrají. Popisuji možné herní principy, které by se mohly vložit do informačního systému a zlepšit tím motivaci studentů. Věnuji se i typologii hráčů podle dvou modelů. Abych vytvořila lepší představu o tom, co gamifikace je, popisuji několik gamifikovaných služeb. V praktické části práce vytvářím možnou podobu některých herních prvků, které by se mohly do systému implementovat

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis is focused on the use of gamification which means inserting game elements into the Information system of Masaryk University to motivate students. I would like to prove that it is possible to increase students´ motivation and improve whole education system due to inserting game elements. I describe what the game is and why people play games. I also describe possible game principles which could be inserted into the information system and so they improve students´motivation. I also pay my attention to the typology of gamers according to the two models. I desribe several gamification services to create better idea about what the gamification really is. In the practical part of the bachelor thesis I create possible form of some game principles which could be implement into the system.
