Nursing process in care of a child with autism spectrum disorder

Abstract:

Tahle bakalářská práce je zpracována s cílem vytvořit názorný plán ošetřovatelské péče u dítěte s poruchou autistického spektra, které bylo hospitalizováno na oddělení dětské neurologické vybrané nemocnice. Plán ošetřovatelské péče vychází z ošetřovatelských diagnóz NANDA International taxonomie II, které se vztahují ke konkrétním potřebám vybraného pacienta. Bakalářská práce je rozdělena na část teoretickou a praktickou. Teoretická část této bakalářské práce zahrnuje dvě hlavní kapitoly. V první kapitole s názvem Poruchy autistického spektra, se zaměřuji na charakteristiku onemocnění, jeho etiologii, diagnostiku a terapii. Podkapitoly terapie jsou zaměřeny především na nefarmakologickou léčbu, kdy jsou podrobněji popsané vybrané čtyři metody, díky kterým se dá s dítětem pracovat. Druhá kapitola teoretické části s názvem Ošetřovatelská péče o dítě s poruchou autistického spektra je zaměřena na potřeby dítěte s PAS na jeho odlišné myšlení a na specifika ošetřovatelské péče u dítěte s poruchami autistického spektra. Praktická část se zaměřuje na ošetřovatelský proces u vybraného dítěte s poruchou autistického spektra, který byl hospitalizován v dětské nemocnici, kvůli nastavení ketogenní diety, která by měla eliminovat množství epileptických záchvatů. Jde o sedmiletého chlapce s diagnózou Dětský autismus. Celkem bylo stanoveno jedenáct ošetřovatelských diagnóz. Z toho bylo sedm aktuálních diagnóz a čtyři potenciální ošetřovatelské diagnózy. U každé diagnózy byly stanoveny cíle, prováděné intervence, jejich realizace a následné vyhodnocení ošetřovatelské péče. Dítě bylo hospitalizováno 12 dní.

Abstract:

This bachelor's thesis aims to provide an illustrative plan of nursing care for a child with an autistic spectrum disorder who was hospitalized at the pediatric neurology clinic. The nursing care plan is based on the nursing diagnoses of the NANDA International taxonomy II which relate to the specific needs of the selected child patient. The bachelor's thesis is divided into a theoretical and a practical part. The theoretical part of this thesis includes two main chapters. The first chapter titled Disorders of the Autistic Spectrum focuses on the characteristics of the disorder, its etiology, diagnostics and therapy. The subchapters about therapy discuss mainly non-pharmacology treatments and describe more in detail four methods used to work with the child. The second chapter of the theoretical part titled Nursing care for a child with autistic spectrum disorder focuses on the needs of the child with ASD and his or her different thinking and the specifics of the nursing care for a child with autistic spectrum disorder. The practical part of the thesis discusses the nursing process in a selected child with the autistic spectrum disorder who was hospitalized in children's hospital due to the adjustments of ketogenic diet. This diet was supposed to decrease the number of epileptic seizures. The patient is a seven year old boy with the diagnosis of child autism. Each diagnosis was connected with concrete goals which were adjusted to the length of hospitalization. We recorded the interventions carried out, their realization and follow up evaluation of the nursing care. In total, eleven nursing diagnosis were established, in which seven were with a completed goal and in four the goals were completed only partially. The child was hospitalized for 12 days in total.
