Abstract:
This master’s thesis aims to identify basic teen girl character archetypes in American teen TV series from the 21st century and to compare their various representatives. It focuses on stereotypical portrayals of teenage girls and argues that contemporary television challenges previously set traditions of teenage narratives, and thereby positively affects its audience.
