Consumer behaviour in the field of food waste

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se věnuje chování spotřebitelů v oblasti plýtvání potravinami. Hlavním cílem diplomové práce je popsat spotřebitelské chování v oblasti plýtvání potravinami a navrhnout případná doporučení pro zainteresované subjekty, která povedou k eliminaci plýtvání. Dílčím cílem práce je zjistit situaci v oblasti plýtvání potravinami ve světě, v Evropské unii a České republice, zjistit hlavní důvody nespotřebovaných potravin v domácnostech a prozkoumat, co by mohlo být pro spotřebitele motivací k omezení plýtvání potravinami. Práce je rozdělena na dvě části – literární přehled a vlastní práci. První část se věnuje teoretickým znalostem spotřebitelského chování a problematice plýtvání potravinami. Ve druhé části je proveden sekundární výzkum a pro získání primárních dat je využito kvantitativního dotazníkové šetření a kvalitativní metody focus groups.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis deals with consumer behaviour in the field of food waste. The main goal of the diploma thesis is to describe consumer behaviour in the field of food waste and to suggest possible recommendations for stakeholders that will lead to the elimination of waste. The partial goal of the thesis is to find out the situation in the field of food waste in the world, in the European Union and in the Czech Republic, to find out the main reasons for unconsumed food in households and to explore what could be an incentive for consumers to reduce food waste. The diploma is divided into two parts - a literary review and the work itself. The first part deals with theoretical knowledge of consumer behaviour and the issue of food waste. In the second part, a secondary research is performed and a quantitative questionnaire survey and qualitative focus groups method is used to obtain primary data.
