Abstract:

Diplomová práce pojednává o motivu Neptuna, který je ztotožňován s řeckým bohem Poseidonem, a dalších antických vodních božstev v umění starověku a následné přenesení motivu do českého umění v období novověku se zaměřením na jednu oblast výtvarného umění a to konkrétně na sochařství. Snahou je pokusit se vymezit a popsat význam tohoto motivu v antickém světě a antické mytologii a zároveň následné převedení mytologického tématu do českého sochařství v období renesance, baroka a historismu v širších souvislostech, kde je zaměřeno obecně na přijetí antické tradice v daném uměleckém slohu a jakým způsobem byl antický motiv spojený s vodním živlem použit.

Abstract:

The thesis discusses the motives of Neptune, who was identified with Greek god Poseidon, and other water divinities in ancient art of antiquity and the subsequent transfer of design in the Czech art in modern times, focusing on one area of arts, specifically sculpture. The aim is to try to define and describe the importance of this theme in the ancient world and ancient mythology, while subsequent conversion mythological theme in Czech sculpture in the Renaissance, Baroque and historicism in a broader context, which is directed generally to the acceptance of an ancient tradition in the artistic style and how as the ancient motive associated with the water element is used.
