Abstract:

Tato práce popisuje faktory ovlivňující rozhodnutí investorů v Ghaně. Studie je inspirována konceptem behaviorálního financování a blíže se zabývá hlavními faktory, které ovlivňují rozhodnutí jednotlivých investorů v Ghaně, a faktory, které jsou rozhodující při volbě finančního aktiva. Rozsáhlý přehled literatury pomohl určit faktory, které ovlivňují chování jednotlivců, jako racionální nebo iracionální. Racionální faktory jsou často spojeny s tradičními finančními teoriemi, které zahrnují faktory jako riziko, výnosy, cenové/obchodní trendy, vládní politiky, hospodářské podmínky atd. Na druhé straně iracionální faktory jsou spojeny s behaviorálními finančními teoriemi, jako je teorie stáda, prospektová teorie, kotvení atd.Studie obsahuje odpovědi 244 občanů Ghany zpracovaných pomocí vhodné metody vzorkování. Výsledky studie ukazují, že investiční rozhodnutí jsou do určité míry ovlivněna faktory, jako je riziko a očekávané výnosy. Nicméně ve skutečnosti investoři zvažují další faktory chování. Mezi určené faktory chování patří přílišná důvěra, obeznámenost, stádní chování a vyhlídkové chování, přičemž hlavním faktorem ovlivňujícím rozhodnutí je přílišná důvěra. Na základě výsledků práce uvádí doporučení pro zúčastněné strany finančního trhu.

Abstract:

This thesis describes the factors influencing the decisions of investors in Ghana. The study is inspired by the behavioural finance concept and elaborates the main factors that influence the decisions of individual investors in Ghana and the factors that determine the choice of a financial asset. An extensive literature review helped to identify the factors that influence the behaviour of individuals as either rational or irrational. Rational factors are often linked with the traditional financial theories which include factors such as risk, returns, price/market trends, government policies, economic conditions etc. Irrational factors, on the other hand, are linked with the behavioural finance theories such as herding theory, prospect theory, anchoring etc.The study gathered responses from 244 citizens of Ghana using the convenient sampling method. The result of the study demonstrates that investment decisions, to some extent, are influenced by factors such as risk and expected returns. However, in reality, there are other behavioural factors considered by investors. The behavioural factors identified are over-confidence, familiarity, herding behaviour and prospect behaviour with overconfidence being the major factor to influence decisions. Recommendations to financial market stakeholders are proposed based on the results of this study.
