Analysis of counterfeiting and misuse of pharmaceuticals in health care after 2005

Abstract:

Cílem této práce je prozkoumat skutečnosti týkající se padělání a zneužívání léčiv ve zdravotnictví včetně jejich ekonomických a sociálních dopadů. Záměrem je porovnat soubor vybraných zemí v tomto ohledu a poukázat na korelaci mezi vyspělostí země a padělatelstvím či zneužíváním léčiv. Zvolený problém je řešen pomocí dostupných statistik jednotlivých zemí a průzkumů prováděných Světovou organizací zdraví. Práce se dělí do tří částí. První část se věnuje seznámení s paděláním a zneužíváním léčiv a jejich ekonomickým i sociálním dopadů. Věnuje se taktéž typologii padělání a boji proti padělatelství. V druhé části se provádí podrobnější rozbor vybraných zemí s distinktivním trhem léčiv za účelem porovnání jejich situací a zjištění vztahů z pohledu ekonomické vyspělosti. Poslední část je zaměřena na potencionální doporučení a řešení tohoto problému. Práce poskytuje ucelený přehled problematiky v mezinárodním měřítku a poukazuje na nedostatečnou pozornost věnovanou padělatelství ve zdravotnictví.

Abstract:

The purpose of this study is to investigate the facts related to counterfeiting and misuse of drugs in health care, including their economic and social impacts. The intention is to compare the sample of countries in this respect and to show a correlation between the development of the country and the counterfeiting or misuse of drugs. The selected problem is solved with the available statistics for individual countries and surveys conducted by the World Health Organisation. The work is divided into three parts. The first part focuses on the introduction to forgery and misuse of drugs and its economic and social impacts. It is also the typology of counterfeiting and fight methods against counterfeiting. The second part is focused on performing an analysis of selected countries with distinctive drug markets in order to compare their situations and finding relationships in terms of economic advancement. The last section focuses on recommendations and potential solutions to this problem. The thesis provides a comprehensive overview of the issues at the international level and highlights the lack of attention to counterfeiting in healthcare.
