Tato práce se zaměřuje na Anne Beattieovou, zařazuje ji jako autorku minimalismu a podtrhuje její význam. Dále definuje minimalismus, který se vyznačuje například strohostí, jednoduchostí vyjadřovacích prostředků i syntaxe, omezeným vhledem do příběhu či implikacemi. This thesis focuses on Ann Beattie, identifies her as a minimalist and explains the importance of her work. It also presents minimalism which manifests through austerity, simple syntax and choice of words, a limited insight into the stories or implications.
