Influence of covid period on the physical condition of second-degree pupils of primary school.

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá mírou fyzické aktivity žáků druhého stupně základní školy. Práce se skládá z teoretické a praktické části. Cílem prá-ce je ověřit, zda se podílela nemoc Covid-19 a s ní spojená restriktivní pravidla v omezení sportovních aktivit, na fyzické kondici žáků 6. a 7. tříd, dále poukázat na důležitost pohybu v každodenním životě a upo-zornit na rizika, která jsou spojena s jeho nedostatkem. Žáků základ-ních škol se pandemie dotkla nejvíce a neustále je ovlivňovala. Žáci měli výuku pouze online přes počítač a nemohli navštěvovat své koníčky. Tím, že jsou dnes hodně rozšířené moderní technologie a s tím spojené hraní počítačových her, je pohyb mladistvých ohrožen a mohou u nich nastat problémy spojené z jeho nedostatkem. Diplomová práce porov-nává fyzickou kondici žáků v době omezení sportovních aktivit a poté po uvolnění omezení a snaží se o přiblížení důležitosti pohybu žákům v jejich každodenním životě. V teoretické části práce jsou vysvětleny a popsány nejdůležitější pojmy a fakta týkající se daného tématu. Respondenty výzkumu byli žáci dru-hého stupně ZŠ ve Šlapanicích, konkrétně se jednalo o žáky 6. a 7. tříd. K hodnocení výzkumných dat byly použity percentilové grafy, sloužící k výpočtu hodnot BMI (Body Mass Index) a obvodu břicha k tělesné výšce. V rámci měření byly u žáků zjišťovány základní demografické údaje (pohlaví, věk, třída, váha, výška, obvod pasu, sportovní kroužek a aktivita – jestli se u žáků vyskytují a zdali probíhaly v posledních 6 měsících, četnost a délka aktivity), dále byl využit Step-Up Test (index zdatnosti) a v neposlední řadě si žáci vyzkoušeli vybrané cviky z Iowa-Brace testu. Všechny naměřené hodnoty si žáci sami vypočítali. Po zpracování diplomové práce jsou žáci, kteří o to projevili zájem, s výsledky obou měření seznámeni. V praktické části jsou popisovány výsledky fyzické aktivity žáků. V době omezení sportovních kroužků způsobených pandemií, došlo k přerušení pravidelné fyzické aktivity u více než poloviny žáků, kteří se výzkumu účastnili. U těchto žáků došlo v důsledku přerušení k nedostatku pohybu a s tím spojeným navýšením BMI a snížení výkonnosti. U měření, které probíhalo již za fungování sportovních aktivit, došlo u značného počtu žáků k opětovnému snížení BMI a navýšení výkonnosti. Fyzická aktivita a pohyb je tedy u člověka důležitou a nedílnou součástí každodenního života.

Abstract:

The thesis deals with the level of physical activity of second-grade pri-mary school pupils. The thesis consists of theoretical and practical parts. The thesis aims to verify whether the Covid-19 disease and the associated restrictive real-work in the limitation of sports activities contributed to the physical condition of pupils of the 6th and 7th grades, to point out the importance of exercise in everyday life, and to highlight the risks associated with its lack. Primary school pupils were affected the most by the pandemic and constantly affected them. Pupils only had lessons online via computer and could not attend their hob-bies. With the prevalence of modern technology and the associated computer gaming, the movement of adolescents is at risk and they may experience problems related to the lack of it. The thesis compares the physical condition of pupils at the time of restriction of sports activities and after the restriction is relaxed and tries to bring the importance of moving closer to pupils in their everyday life. In the theoretical part of the thesis, the most important concepts and facts related to the topic are explained and described. The re-spondents of the research were pupils of the second grade of primary school in Šlapanice, namely pupils of the 6th and 7th grades. The research evaluation used percentile charts to calculate the values of BMI (Body Mass Index) and abdominal circumference to body height, the measurements included basic demographic data (gender, age, grade, weight, height, waist circumference, sports club, and activity - if any and whether it occurred in the last 6 months, frequency and dura-tion of activity), the Step-Up Test (fitness index) was used, and last but not least, students tried selected exercises from the Iowa-Brace test. All measured values were calculated by the students themselves. The re-sults of both measurements are presented to the pupils who expressed interest after the thesis has been completed. In the practical part, the results of the pupils' physical activity are described. In the period of restrictions on sports clubs caused by the pandemic, there was a break in regular physical activity for more than half of the pupils who partici-pated in the research. For these pupils, the interruption resulted in a lack of exercise and an associated increase in BMI, and a decrease in performance. For the measurements that took place while sporting ac-tivities were already functioning, a significant number of pupils experi-enced a return to a reduction in BMI and an increase in performance. Physical activity and movement are therefore an important and integral part of everyday life.
