Identification of Value Generators in Transport

Abstract:

Primárním strategickým cílem podniku je růst hodnoty. Dlouhodobým finančním cílem všech společností je tedy neustálé zvyšování hodnoty a maximalizace bohatství akcionáře. Je nutné určit a pochopit faktory, které hodnotu společnosti ovlivňují. Identifikace generátorů hodnoty je přímo rozhodujícím úkolem hodnototvorného managementu. Koncepce hodnotového managementu tak vyvolává potřebu aplikace dalších nových přístupů, které měří efektivnost procesů i prvků, kterými je hodnota generována. Výzkumů stanovujících jednotlivé typy generátorů hodnoty existuje mnoho. Tato diplomová práce se ovšem zabývá identifikací generátorů hodnoty v konkrétním oboru – v dopravních a přepravních společnostech. První část práce se věnuje rozboru relevantní české a světové literatury v dané oblasti. Ve druhé části je k identifikaci generátorů hodnoty podniku v dopravě využita metoda umělých neuronových sítí. Závěrem jsou určeny konkrétní proměnné, které indikují naplnění hlavního cíle podniku v dopravě, tedy růst hodnoty pro akcionáře.

Abstract:

The primary strategic objective of a business is value growth. Therefore, the long-term financial goal of all companies is to continually increase value and maximize shareholder wealth. It is necessary to identify and understand the factors that influence the value of a company. Identifying value generators is a direct determinant of value-creation management. The value management concept thus raises the need for the application of other new approaches that measure the efficiency of the processes and elements that generate the value. There are a lot of researches identifying individual types of value generators. This diploma thesis deals with the identification of generators of value in a particular field - in transport and logistics companies. The first part of the thesis deals with the analysis of relevant Czech and world literature in the given field. In the second part, the method of artificial neural networks is used to identify generators of the value of a company in transport. In conclusion, specific variables are identified that indicate the fulfilment of the main objective of the company in transport, i.e. the increase in value for the shareholders.
