Current status and aplication of trichology in forensic science

Abstract:

Cílem práce je zpracovat rešerši odborné literatury na aktuální postavení využití trichologie ve forenzních vědách. Trichologie se zabývá strukturou a analýzou chlupů a vlasů. Vlas má téměř totožnou strukturu a skladbu jako vlas, který je definován de facto jako druh chlupu. Současné vědy využívají znalostí anatomie a vývoje chlupu k léčbě nejrůznějších onemocnění nebo jako podporu právě při vyšetřování trestných činů. Práce se převážně zabývá otázkou, zda může forenzní trichologie svými výsledky plnohodnotně konkurovat ostatním forenzním oborům a analýzám jiných kriminalistických stop. V práci je popsána základní stavba a struktu-ra chlupu, odběr chlupů na místě činu, jednotlivé analýzy (morfologické, genetické, sérologic-ké, toxikologické) a v neposlední řadě je rozebrán také zvířecí chlup a jeho komparace s chlupem lidským. Z hlediska forenzní trichologie se zjišťuje např. zda jde o zvířecí či lidský chlup, v jakém prostředí jedinec žil, jak se o ochlupení staral, jaké jsou na chlupech stopy po-škození. V případě dalšího kriminalistického vyšetřování je zjišťována např. přítomnost toxic-kých látek, léků, určení krevní skupiny atd. Práce je doplněna praktickými poznatky a postře-hy, zejména kapitola o toxikologické analýze chlupu, získanými v rámci odborné praxe na od-dělení Ústavu soudního lékařství a medicínského práva Fakultní nemocnice Olomouc.

Abstract:

The aim of this work is to research current position and use of trichology in forensic scien-ces. Trichology deals with a structure of hairs and hair. A hair has almost the same structure and consistency as hair. Hair is de facto defined as a type of hairs. Contemporary sciences use the knowledge of anatomy and development of a hair to treat a variety of diseases or as a support just in investigation of crimes. The work mainly deals with a question whether foren-sic trichology can fully compete with other forensic disciplines and analyses of other crimina-listic tracks. The work describes the basic structure and composition of a hair, a collection of hairs at the crime scene, individual analyses (morphological, genetic, serological, toxicologi-cal). Last but not least an animal hair is examined and its comparison with a human hair. From the point of view of forensic trichology, it is determined e.g., whether it is an animal or human hair. Another issue is a living environment of the individual, how his hairs were cared for, what trails of damage are visible. In case of further criminalistic investigation, e.g., the presen-ce of toxic substances, medical drugs, a blood type etc. are determined. The work is supple-mented with practical insights and observations which were obtained as a part of professional practical training at the department of the Institute of Forensic Medicine and Medical Law in the Olomouc University Hospital.
