Revitalisation of public space in settlement under protection of urban heritage reservation/zone

Abstract:

Diplomová práce je zaměřena na revitalizaci veřejného prostoru v městských sídlech s plošným ochranným režimem památkové péče, tedy městských památkových rezervacích nebo městských památkových zónách. Cílem teoretické části práce je shrnout historický vývoj přístupu k regeneraci takto chráněných sídel, zpracovat analýzu referenčních realizací, jejich interpretaci a definování východisek pro návrhovou praxi. Cílem praktické části je po zanalyzování vybraného území města Moravského Krumlova navrhnout nové funkční využití urbánních prostorů navazujících na systém městských hradeb, částečně spadající pod ochranu městské památkové zóny.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis is focused on the revitalisation of public space in urban settlements under the general protection of heritage conservation, i.e. urban heritage reservations or urban heritage zones. The goal of the theoretical part of the thesis is to summarize the historical development of the approach to the regeneration of such protected settlements, to process the analysis of reference realizations, their interpretation, and the definition of starting points for design practice. The aim of the practical part is, after analysis of the selected urban area of Moravský Krumlov, to propose a new functional use of urban spaces following the system of city walls, partly belonging under the protection of the urban heritage zone.
