The Role of Central Bank in the Period of Financial Crisis

Abstract:

The Bachelor thesis deals with the characteristic of monetary policy of the European Central Bank during the financial crisis in eurozone. The first chapter focuses on a central banking system in general from the historical point of view till simultaneity. It uprises from the theoretical knowledge in the sphere of the central bank monetary policy while fullfiling defined aims by using all tools needed for their realization. The second chapter analyses the European Central Bank, which is responsible for meeting its monetary policy aims by means of strategies, tasks and tools based on the monetary authority position responsible for the price stability in eurozone. This part of the thesis also focuses on the knowledge concerning Europe integration from the institutional point of view. The third chapter embodies the actual European Central Bank politics, which is excercised through the unconventional measurements with the aim to eliminate debtor crisis in eurozone. This chapter also explains in more details reasons of debtor crisis and brings the resolutions of Governor Council concerning monetary policy of the European Central Bank for 2013.

Abstract:

Bakalárska práca sa zaoberá charakteristikou menovej politiky Európskej centrálnej banky počas dlhovej krízy v eurozóne. Prvá kapitola je zameraná na centrálne bankovníctvo vo všeobecnej rovine z historického hľadiska po súčasnosť. Vychádza z teoretických poznatkov v oblasti menovej politiky centrálnych bánk pri plnení definovaných cieľov využívaním nástrojov potrebných na ich realizáciu. Druhá kapitola analyzuje Európsku centrálnu banku, ktorá plní svoje menovo-politické ciele prostredníctvom stratégie, úloh a nástrojov vychádzajúc z pozície menovej autority zodpovednej za cenovú stabilitu v eurozóne. Táto časť práce je súčasne zameraná na poznatky týkajúce sa integrácie Európy z inštitucionálneho hľadiska. Tretia kapitola obsahuje aktuálnu menovú politiku Európskej centrálnej banky, ktorú uplatňuje prostredníctvom nekonvenčných opatrení na elimináciu dlhovej krízy v eurozóne. Podrobnejšie sa zaoberá príčinami vzniku dlhovej krízy a prináša rozhodnutia Rady guvernérov o menovej politike Európskej centrálnej banky pre rok 2013.
