Library as an educational environment on the example of historical and contemporary practice of the Research Library in Hradec Králové

Abstract:

Knihovny jako vzdělávací instituce mají v Hradci Králové své místo již od konce 19. století. Než vznikla Studijní a vědecká knihovna v podobě, jako ji známe dnes, proběhl vývoj přes mnoho podob instituce, a to jak formálně, tak i lokačně. Práce stručně popisuje historický vývoj knihovnictví na našem území, se zaměřením na kontext tří knihovních zákonů. Největší pozornost je ovšem věnována letům 1998–2018, které jsou zde analyzovány skrze výroční zprávy Studijní a vědecké knihovny v Hradci Králové, jsou zde popsány významné události jednotlivých let, ale především nabídka pro uživatele. Knihovna si vybudovala dobrou pověst, jako instituce poskytující neformální vzdělávání nejen cílovým skupinám z řad žáků a studentů, ale i široké veřejnosti. Zároveň se ze své pozice krajské knihovny věnuje i vzdělávání odborné obce knihovnické.

Abstract:

Libraries as educational institutions have had their place in Hradec Králové since the end of the 19th century. Before the establishment of the Research Library in the form as we know it today, development took place through many forms of the institution, both formally and locally. The thesis briefly describes the historical development of librarianship in our territory, focusing on the context of three library laws. However, the greatest attention is paid to the years 1998–2018, which are in thesis analyzed through the annual reports of the Research Library in Hradec Králové. There are described important events of individual years, but especially the offer for users. The library has built a good reputation as an institution providing non-formal education not only to target groups of pupils and students, but also to the general public. At the same time, from its position as a regional library, it also devotes the education to the professional library community.
