Minimax and Mixed Strategies of Solving Matrix Games

Abstract:

Diplomová práce “ Minimaxové a smíšené strategie řešení maticových her“ je zaměřena na matematické řešení maticových her, což je jedna z částí teorie her. Diplomová práce je rozdělena na teoretickou část, kde jsou kromě úvodu a historie této matematické disciplíny rozebírány a definovány hlavní pojmy a kde je také uveden použitý matematický aparát. Cílem této části je provést klasifikaci řešení maticových her podle mnou vybraných strategií, kterými jsou princip minimaxu a optimální smíšené strategie. Dále pak ukázky několika reálných situací, které se těmito strategiemi řeší. Ve druhé, didaktické části je cílem vytvořit jednoduchý, srozumitelný text, který by se dal použít v rámci výuky matematiky pro nadané žáky základních škol. Na několika příkladech z oblasti společenských her je uvedena možnost matematického řešení. Současně jsem chtěla ukázat i jednoduché konfliktní situace, se kterými je možné se setkat v běžném životě, a na kterých je možné dané strategické řešení použít.

Abstract:

The thesis “Minimax and Mixed Strategies of Solving Matrix Games“presents mathematical solution of Matrix Games which is one part of the Game theory. This thesis is divided into two parts. First part is theoretic part that includes an abstract and history of the Game theory and also defines the major terms and presents used mathematical apparatus. The purpose of this part is to classify the solutions of the Matrix Games according to chosen strategies. I chose Minimax Strategies and Mixed Strategies. There are also some examples of real situations in this part that are solved with these strategies. The purpose of the second part of the thesis, didactic part, is to make a simple and understandable text which could be used in teaching Mathematics for talented children in Primary Schools. The children could see the possibility of mathematical solution in few examples of Social Games. Simultaneously, we could also show examples of simple conflict situations that are common in real life, and present a strategic solution of these situations.
