Education of pupils with severe mental retardation

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá problematikou žáků se středně těžkou mentální retardací, ma-pováním stávajících výukových přístupů a hledáním alternativních způsobů výuky v konkrétních případech. Teoretická část popisuje základní pojmy mentální retardace, speci-fikuje standartní speciálně pedagogické metody, a to zejména ve vztahu ke komunikaci, kompetenci k učení a zabývá se novými či méně uplatňovanými přístupy v těchto oblastech. V praktické části jsou prezentovány výsledky vlastního výzkumného šetření u vybraného vzorku probandů formou případových studií. Cílem výzkumného šetření bylo zjistit, jaké formy a postupy ve vzdělávání vybraného vzorku probandů vedly ke zlepšení či zhoršení jejich vzdělávacích výsledků. Součástí práce jsou konkrétní závěry a doporučení pro praxi, které jsou využitelné v praxi speciální pedagogiky a dalších disciplínách tzv. pomáhajících profesí.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis deals with the issue of pupils with moderate mental retardation, mapping existing teaching approaches and searching for alternative ways of teaching in specific cases. The theoretical part describes the basic concepts of mental retardation, speci-fies standard special pedagogical methods, especially in relation to communication, learning competence and deals with new or less applied approaches in these areas. The practical part presents the results of our own research in a selected sample of probands in the form of case studies. The aim of the research was to find out what forms and procedures in the education of a selected sample of probands led to the improvement or deterioration of their educational results. Part of the thesis are specific conclusions and recommendations for practice that are usable in the practice of special pedagogy and other disciplines of so-called helping professions.
