Adaptation process in chosen company with focus on Generation Y and Generation Z

Abstract:

Na změnu v pracovním životě lze nahlížet jako na proces, a jako takovou ji můžeme řídit. A právě kvalitně nastavený adaptační proces by měl zajistit, že tato změna bude pozitivní pro zaměstnance i organizaci, do které přichází. Zaměstnanci ovšem do společnosti přichází s rozdílnou představou, jak bude jejich příchod do nové společnosti probíhat. Je tedy nutné zaměstnance dělit a hledat podobné charakteristiky. To lze například členěním zaměstnanců podle generací. Majoritní skupinou na světovém pracovním trhu je Generace Y. A Generace Z v budoucnosti zaujme její místo. Je tedy nutné znát jejich charakteristiky, aby si společnosti dokázaly udržet zaměstnance z obou generací. Předložená práce je zaměřena na popis adaptačního procesu ve vybrané pobočce společnosti Korn Ferry s.r.o. a zjištění, jak zaměstnanci z Generace Y a Generace Z vnímají současné nastavení tohoto procesu. Popis adaptačního procesu byl uskutečněn na základě polostrukturovaných rozhovorů s pracovníky personálního oddělení, které měly za cíl získat základní informace o adaptačním procesu. Ten byl následně na základě informací od personálního oddělení a vlastních zkušeností chronologicky popsán. Zjišťování, jak zaměstnanci z Generace Y a Generace Z vnímají současné nastavení procesu, proběhlo pomocí dotazníkového šetření, které využilo strukturovaného dotazníku. Výstupem bylo zjištění, že zaměstnanci Generace Y i Generace Z souhlasí se všemi tvrzeními uvedenými v dotazníkovém šetření, ale s připomínkami. Na základě tohoto výstupu autorka navrhla implementaci tzv. buddy programu, který by měl dané nedostatky eliminovat.

Abstract:

Change in working life can be seen as a process, and as such we can manage it. It is the well-adjusted adaptation process that should make this change positive not only for employees but for the organization they come to as well. Employees can come to the company with different expectations about their adaptation process. Therefore is necessary to segment them and search for the same characteristics. Like characteristics based on what generation the employees belong. Generation Y is the majority in the global labour market and Generation Z will take its place in the future. Therefore it is necessary to know their characteristics in order for the company to be able to retain employees from both generations. This master's thesis is focused on the description of the adaptation process in a selected branch of Korn Ferry s.r.o. and finding out how Generation Y and Generation Z employees perceive the current setup of this process. The description of the adaptation process was carried out on the basis of semi-structured interviews with employees of the personnel department, who aim to obtain basic information about the adaptation process. Based on this information and own experience the adaptation process was described chronologically. To find out how employees from Generation Y and Generation Z perceive the current setting of the process was used a survey using a structured questionnaire. The outcome was that Generation Y and Generation Z employees agree with all the statements in the questionnaire, but with comments. Based on this output, the author proposed the implementation of a so-called buddy program, which should eliminate the negative findings.
