Driving school test scenarios using virtual reality

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá vytvořením testovacích scénářů pro autoškolu pomocí virtuální reality. Pro účely vývoje a testovaní byl využit headset HTC Vive Cosmos. Práce začíná analýzou současného stavu a dostupných aplikací v oblasti výuky řízení, která poskytuje základní informace o stávajících technologiích a trendech v tomto odvětví. Dále jsou podrobně popsány parametry virtuálních brýlí a provedeno porovnání různých výrobců. Hlavním cílem práce je vytvoření funkční aplikace pro výuku řízení v prostředí virtuální reality. Implementace zahrnuje import potřebných pluginů a nástrojů pro správné fungování virtuálního headsetu v prostředí Unity. Dále je vytvořena komplexní herní scéna obsahující hráče, vozidlo, další autonomní vozidla, chodce, semafory a dopravní značení. Po dokončení implementace následuje testování aplikace, které slouží k odhalení případných nedostatků a identifikaci oblastí pro budoucí vylepšení. Výsledkem bakalářské práce je funkční aplikace umožňující simulaci různých scénářů pro výuku řízení v autoškole pomocí virtuální reality.

Abstract:

This bachelor's thesis deals with creating testing scenarios for driving schools using virtual reality. For the purposes of development and testing, the HTC Vive Cosmos headset was used. The work begins with an analysis of the current state and available applications in the field of driving education, providing essential information about existing technologies and trends in this industry. Furthermore, it provides detailed descriptions of the parameters of virtual reality headsets and compares different manufacturers. The main objective of the thesis is to develop a functional application for driving education in a virtual reality environment. The implementation involves importing necessary plugins and tools for the proper functioning of the virtual headset in the Unity environment. Additionally, a comprehensive gaming scene is created, comprising players, vehicles, other autonomous vehicles, pedestrians, traffic lights, and traffic signs. Following the completion of the implementation, application testing is conducted to identify potential deficiencies and areas for future improvement. The result of the bachelor's thesis is a functional application enabling the simulation of various scenarios for driving education in a driving school using virtual reality.
