The Use of Art Therapy in Work with Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder

Abstract:

V této práci se zabýváme problematikou využití arteterapeutických technik při práci s jedinci s poruchou autistického spektra (PAS). Nejprve zde přibližujeme jednotlivé pojmy vztahující se k tématu arteterapie, například formy arteterapie, cíle a organizace a průběh arteterapie. Dále se věnujeme výtvarnému projevu, jeho vývoji a specifikům a rovněž i diagnostickým aspektům. Poté se mimo jiné zaměřujeme na specifika jedinců s poruchou autistického spektra ve vztahu k arteterapii. Hlavním cílem výzkumné části práce bylo dle zvolených kritérií rozhodnout, které z aplikovaných arteterapeutických technik byly pro práci s naší skupinou jedinců s poruchou autistického spektra nejvhodnější. Na základě analýzy vzniklých výtvarných artefaktů, zúčastněného pozorování při práci a polostrukturovaného rozhovoru s probandy jsme potom vyslovili návrhy na další intervenci prostřednictvím arteterapie.

Abstract:

This study deals with the use of art therapy with persons with autistic spectrum disorders (ADS). First, we approach terms relating to the issue of art therapy, for example the forms of art therapy, goals, organization and the process of art therapy. We also present brief discussion of creative expression, its development, specifics and diagnostic. Then we focused right on the specific of persons with autistic spectrum disorders in relationship to the art therapy. The main aim of the research part was, through the use of chosen criteria to decide, which from the used art therapy techniques were the best for our group of persons with autistic spectrum disorders. On the grounds of the analysis of created creative artefact, participant observation during the activity and semi-structured interview with participants we suggested following intervention through the art therapy.
