Worries and expectations of young people leaving the children's home

Abstract:

Předmětem bakalářské práce jsou obavy a očekávání osob odcházejících z dětského domova. Cílem práce je tyto oblasti zmapovat a zjistit, čeho se jedinci před opuštěním ústavní výchovy nejvíce obávají a co od svého samostatného života mimo očekávají. Dalším cílem je tato zjištění porovnat s obavami a očekáváními jedinců vyrůstajících ve vlastní rodině, kteří se na vlastní život také připravují. V teoretické části se zabýváme teoretickými východisky dětského domova, rodiny a jedinců ve věku 17-25 let. Dále se zaměřujeme na socializaci, náročné životní situace a především na obavy a očekávání. Střed práce náleží předchozím výzkumům v podobě teoreticko-kritické analýzy. Praktická část se zaobírá samotným výzkumem, kterého se zúčastnilo celkem 105 osob, 42 z dětského domova a 63 z vlastní rodiny. V kapitolách této části detailně popisujeme postup při výzkumném šetření, použité metody a nakonec interpretujeme výsledky, kterým dále věnujeme pozornost i v diskusi a v závěrech. V kvalitativním předvýzkumu jsme využili techniky rozhovoru, z jehož výsledků jsme vytvořili nestandardizovaný dotazník založený na Likertově hodnotící škále. Data z kvantitativního šetření jsme využili při testování hypotéz pomocí neparametrického Wilcoxonova testu pro dva nezávislé výběry.

Abstract:

The subject of this bachelor's thesis is mapping and understanding the worries and expectations of individuals leaving children's homes. The aim of this thesis is to explore and figure out what are the greatest fears of those leaving foster care and their expectations from living independently. The next aim is to compare those findings with worries and expectations of children growing up in their own families. The theorethical part is concerned with theorethical basis of children's home, family and individuals aged 17-25. Furthermore, it is focused on socialization, difficult life situatitons and foremost worries and expectations of young individuals. The main body of the thesis is based on previous research and takes form of a theoretically-critical analysis. The practical part is focused on the research itself, undergone by 105 individuals of which 42 living in children's homes and 63 in their own families. The chapters within this section are focused in detail on methodology, research methods and the interpretation of results later explored in discussions and conclusions. In the qualitative preliminar research, interviews were used to obtain the basis on which an undstandardized Likert-scale questionnaire was developed. Data from quantitative research were used in developing the hypotheses using nonparametric Wilcoxon test for two independenant samples.
