Analysis of the Causes of Spatial Segregation.

Abstract:

Diplomová práce je tematicky zaměřena na studium případu sociální exkluze, která se nejvýrazněji projevuje prostorovou segregací obyvatel žijících na určitém společném území. Je orientována především na vlivy, které jsou určovány širšími společenskými podmínkami a jsou mimo dosah a kontrolu vyloučených osob. Cílem bylo identifikovat především vnější příčiny rozšiřování prostorové segregace na území města Ústí nad Labem a vyhodnocení dopadů tohoto jevu na vývoj sociálně prostorové struktury obyvatelstva, určit možnosti sociální práce a možnosti intervencí odborníků a managementu města. Práce byla zpracována kvalitativní výzkumnou metodou explanatorní případové studie, která podává vysvětlení jevu rozebráním jednotlivých příčinných řetězců za užití předem stanovené teorie, kdy hlavním cílem je odkrýt méně známé nebo dosud neznámé vztahy a struktury, analyzovat jejich charakter, identifikovat příčiny a důsledky.

Abstract:

The thesis is thematically focused on the study of the case of social exclusion, which is most prominently manifested in spatial segregation of the population living on a common territory. It is mainly focused on the influences, which are determined by wider societal conditions, and are beyond the reach and control of excluded people. The aim will be to primarily identify the external causes of the expansion of spatial segregation on the territory of the city of Ústí nad Labem and the evaluation of the impact of this phenomenon on the development of the socio-spatial structure of the population, identify opportunities for social work and the possibility of interventions by experts and governments. The work will be handled by the research method explanatory case studies, which offered an explanation of the phenomenon by dissecting the individual causal chains for the use of pre-determined theory, where the main goal is to expose lesser known or unknown relationships and structures, analyze their character, to identify the causes and the consequences.
