Military World in the Prose of Some Novelists of the Boom (Llosa, Roa Bastos, Carpentier, Márquez, Asturias)

Abstract:

The aim of the thesis is to focus on the questions of the military world defined in the prose of some novelists of the Latin American boom. In the first parte we deal with the etymology of the keywords and the history of military regimens in the Latin America. We focus on the terminology of the boom and on the three authors falling within. We deal with the analysis of some of their works we drew from. In the last part we closely consider the detailed analysis of the books in light of the question of the army. For better summary of the situations described in the books, we quote from them. We focus on the three important topics in context of the military life or the life of the ordinary citizens in the military regimen.

Abstract:

Cílem této diplomové práce je zaměřit se na problematiku vojenského světa vykresleného v románových dílech některých autorů takzvaného latinskoamerického boomu. V první části této práce se zabýváme etimologií klíčových slov a historií vojenských režimů v Latinské Americe. Dále se věnujeme termínu boom a třem spisovatelům pod něj spadající. Zabýváme se podrobnějšími rozbory některých jejich děl, ze kterých jsme čerpali. V poslední části této práce se podrobně zaměřujeme na analyzovaná díla z hlediska vojenské otázky. Z těchto děl pak citujeme pro lepší nastínění situace, jež autor popisuje. Věnujeme se třem důležitým tématům v souvislosti s vojenským životem, nebo životem obyčejného lidu ve vojenském režimu.
