Gender discrimination during the carrier building in the Czech Republic

Abstract:

Předmětem bakalářské práce ?Diskriminace dle pohlaví při budování profesní kariéry v České republice? je analýza genderových nerovností v zaměstnání. Cílem práce je zjistit, zda mají muži a ženy stejné možnosti v zaměstnání (především při budování vertikálního typu kariéry) a zda jsou za práci spravedlivě odměňováni. Podstatná část práce je věnována institucím, které dle Pierra Bourdieu přenáší nerovnosti mezi muži a ženami a snaha zjistit, zda tyto instituce pomáhají přenášet stereotypy i v dnešní době a pokud ano, zda mají vliv na nerovnost při budování profesní kariéry. Výsledkem práce je zjištění, že nejen rozdílný přístup všech uvedených institucí, ale i rozdílná konstrukce manažerské dráhy způsobují nerovnosti při budování profesní kariéry (i mimo ni) a tyto nerovnosti jsou neustále přenášeny stereotypním přístupem jednotlivců, tak i institucemi rodiny, školy a státu.

Abstract:

The subject of the bachelor thesis "Discrimination by gender in building a career in the Czech Republic" is an analysis of gender inequality in employment. The aim of this work is to determine whether men and women have equal opportunities in employment (especially in building a vertical type of career) and if they are fairly remunerated for their work. The essential part of the work is devoted to the institutions, which (according to Pierre Bourdieu) transmit inequality between men and women. The purpose is to determine whether these institutions help to transmit stereotypes even today, and if so, whether it has an impact on inequality in building a career. The result of this work is that different approach of the mentioned institutions as well as different construction of management track can cause inequalities in building a professional career (and beyond), and these inequalities are constantly transmitted with a stereotype approach of individuals as well as with institutions of family, school and state.
