Analysis of wood machinability compared to metal machinability

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá obrobitelností dřeva, jakožto materiálu, který má oproti kovům své specifické vlastnosti. V prvních kapitolách se práce zaměřuje na strukturní složení a vlastnosti dřeva. Dále je poukazováno na odlišnosti v obrobitelnosti dřevěných materiálů a je uveden popis jednotlivých zkoušek obrobitelnosti. V další části je zaměřeno na opotřebení břitu a jeho projevy. Ke konci práce se popisují řezné materiály, které jsou využívány pro obrábění dřev a dále řezná geometrie břitu a řezné podmínky. Hlavním cílem je analyzovat obrobitelnost dřeva vzhledem k jeho vlastnostem a porovnat odlišnosti s obráběním kovů.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with the machinability of wood as a material which has its specific properties over metals. In the first chapters, the thesis focuses on the structural composition and properties of wood. Further, the differences in machinability of wood materials are pointed out and the description of the individual machining tests is presented. The next part is focused on the wear of the cutting edge and its projections. At the end of the work are described cutting materials that are used for woodworking and cutting geometry and cutting conditions. The main objective is to analyze the machinability of wood due to its properties and to compare differences with metal machining.
