Design and optimization of inductor for surface hardening

Abstract:

Diplomová práce je rozdělena do čtyř částí. Na úvod jsou uvedeny základní komponenty indukčního ohřevu, jejich popis a funkce. Součástí je také výčet a rozbor použitých vzorců potřebných pro výpočet elektromagnetického a tepelného pole. Stěžejním bodem práce je návrh samotného induktoru pro povrchové indukční kalení včetně technické dokumentace. V rámci návrhu jsou vytvořeny simulace ve dvou programech, konkrétně Comsol a Rillfem. Následně je realizován experiment s reálným modelem induktoru a jsou provedena příslušná měření na vsázce. Závěrem jsou poznatky získané na základě praktického experimentu diskutovány a porovnávány s teoretickými návrhy a programovou simulací.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis is divided into four parts. In the introduction there are the basic components of induction heating, their descriptions and functions. There is also included an analysis of formulas used to calculate the electromagnetic and thermal fields. The main part of this work is the design of the inductor itself for surface induction hardening, including technical documentation. The designs and simulations were created in two programs, namely Comsol and RillFEM. Afterwards there is conducted an experiment with real inductor model and is implemented by appropriate measurements in the stock. At the end of this diploma thesis the knowledge gained from practical experiments are discussed and compared with the theoretical designs and simulations.
