Unified theory of information and Capurro's trilemma

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá koncepty Jednotné teorie informace a Capurrova trilematu, jejich vzájemnými vztahy a jejich vztahy k fenoménům informace a reality. V první části je vymezeno Capurrovo trilema jakožto výchozí bod pro jednotící snahy stran ontologie, epistemologie a praxeologie. Druhá část je věnována vymezení fenoménu reality, zejména z perspektivy aristotelské a platónské tradice jejího pojímání. Součástí tohoto vymezení je i výčet jednotících přístupů, aplikovaných na fenomén reality. Meritem třetí částí je samotný fenomén informace, jeho vymezení, včetně vnitřní diference a diverzity. Jsou zde reflektovány obě tradice pojímání reality, a tedy i pojímání informace jako jejího fenoménu. Poslední část se zaobírá Jednotnou teorií informace, jejími možnostmi a mírou sjednocení fenoménu informace ve vztahu k realitě. Cílem diplomové práce je osvětlit vzájemné vztahy Jednotné teorie informace a Capurrova trilematu. Součástí tohoto cíle je i vytýčení hranic informačně jednotících snah a jejich argumentační podpora.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with the concepts of Unified Theory of Information and Capurro's trilemma, their mutual relations, and their relations to the phenomena of information and reality. The first part of the thesis defines Capurro's trilemma as a starting point for the unifying efforts of ontology, epistemology, and praxeology. The second part is devoted to defining the phenomenon of reality, especially from the perspective of the Aristotelian and Platonic traditions of its conception. Part of this definition is a list of unifying approaches applied to the phenomenon of reality. The measure of the third part is the phenomenon of information itself, its definition, including internal difference and diversity. Both traditions of the conception of reality and thus the conception of information as its phenomenon are reflected here. The last part deals with the Unified Theory of Information, its possibilities, and the level of unification of the information phenomenon in relation to reality. The aim of the thesis is to shed light on the mutual relations between the Unified Information Theory and Capurro's trilemma. Part of this goal is to set the boundaries of information unifying efforts and their argumentative support.
