Occupational therapy in patients with neglect syndrome

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá problematikou neglekt syndromu a možnosti jeho diagnostiky a ergoterapeutické intervence. V této práci jsou shrnuty dosavadní poznatky o neglekt syndromu z českých a zahraničních zdrojů. Práce je rozdělena na teoretickou a praktickou část. První část je zpracovaná formou rešerše, kde je popsána definice, etiologie, incidence, typy neglektu a vliv neglektu na život pacienta. Práce je především zaměřena na diagnostické postupy a ergoterapeutickou intervenci. Druhá část bakalářské práce obsahuje kazuistiky pacientů, u kterých jsou aplikovány získané teoretické poznatky do praxe. Důraz je kladen především na výběr vhodného testu pro ergoterapeuta a jsou aplikovány doporučené metody pro konkrétní typ neglekt syndromu.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis is focused on the neglect syndrome and possibility of diagnosis and occupational therapy. This thesis summarises knowladge about neglect syndrome from czech and foreign sources. The thesis is splitted up to theoretical and practical part. The first part is based on specialized literature and describes definition, etiology, incidence of neglect syndrome and its influence on daily living. This part focuses espetially on diagnosis and treatment. The practical part contains casuistics of two patients with neglect syndrome and practical application of treatment found in theoretical part. The major focus is given to an assessment of suitable tools for occupational therapists and recomended methods are applied to specific type of neglect syndrome.
