Volunteer youth and intergenerational understanding

Abstract:

Cílem diplomové práce bude osvětlit čtenářům význam dobrovolnictví jako jedné z formy rozvoje empatické občanské společnosti, a to vše s odkazem na mezigenerační porozumění. Lidská činnost by bez člověka nemohla existovat, a proto i soustřeďuji zvláštní pozornost na roli dobrovolníka jako důležitého činitele v neziskových organizacích. V první části jsou zpracovány informace z literárních a internetových zdrojů týkající se problematiky dobrovolnictví a přístupu k němu. Dále dávám prostor pro mezigenerační vztahy, které ovlivňují představy současných seniorů, a jejichž problematika je součástí praktické části. Ve druhé části práce je navržen pilotní program „Dobrovolnictví má smysl“, díky kterému se žáci dozvědí o úlohách dobrovolníků ve společnosti a o samotné roli dobrovolnictví a neziskového sektoru v ČR.

Abstract:

The aim of my diploma thesis is to inform the readers of the importance of volunteering as one of the forms of development of empathic civil society, all with reference to intergenerational understanding. Human activity could not exist without people and, therefore, I am paying particular attention to the role of the volunteer as an important factor in non-profit organizations. In the first part, I elaborated on information from literary and internet sources dealing with the issues of volunteering and the attitudes towards it. I also pay attention to intergenerational relationships that affect the expectations of today’s seniors, and whose issues make part of the practical part of this thesis. The second part of the thesis proposes the pilot program "Volunteering makes sense", thanks to which pupils learn about the tasks of volunteers in society and about the role of volunteering and the non-profit sector in the Czech Republic.
