Kopřivnice in the public space of the second half of the 20th century, focusing on public buildings of the 1970s and 1980s.

Abstract:

Diplomová práce popisuje výstavbu a vývoj průmyslového města Kopřivnice ve druhé polovině 20. století, a to se zaměřením na sedmdesátá a osmdesátá léta, kdy byla vystavěna podstatná část města s jeho architektonickými dominantami a uměleckými díly, které utváří a ovlivňují urbanismus a vizuál města dodnes. Z archivních materiálů, odborné literatury, historické fotodokumentace, vzpomínek pamětníků, ale také terénního průzkumu, je vysledován a popsán přerod městečka vesnického charakteru, na světoznámé průmyslové město. Na vybraných stavebních realizacích je také upozorněno na problematiku vnímání architektury vzniklé v období normalizace. Mimo nezůstává ani otázka výtvarného a designového řešení interiérů a exteriérů těchto objektů.

Abstract:

Diploma thesis describes the construction and development of the industrial city of Kopřivnice in the second half of the 20th century. The work focuses mainly on the 1970's and 1980's when a substantial part of the city was built with its architectural landmarks and works of art that shape and influence urbanism and visuals of the city to this day. The transformation of a small town into a world-famous industrial city is traced and described on the basis of archival materials, literature, historical photo documentation, memories of witnesses, but also of field research. The issue of the perception of architecture created during the period of normalization is also drawn to the attention as well as the question of artistic and design solutions of interiors and exteriors of these buildings.
