Slavery in the context of the American War of Independence

Abstract:

Ve své bakalářské práci pojednávám o otroctví v kontextu americké války za nezávislost. Nejdříve jsem se soustředila na stručné představení americké války za nezávislost. Ovšem nejdůležitější část mé práce pojednává o problematice otroctví v časovém období 1760-1800. V mé práci je zkoumán hlavní postoj významných osobností k dané instituci. Vybrala jsem si přední představitele Spojených států amerických, jako jsou George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson a John Adams. Rovněž jsem se zaměřila na postavení otroků v revoluční válce.

Abstract:

In my thesis I discuss the context of slavery in the American War of Independence. At first I focused on a brief presentation of the American War of Independence. But the most important part of my work deals with the issue of slavery in the period 1760-1800. In my main work is studied the attitude of prominent personalities of the institution. I chose the top executives in the United States, such as George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson and John Adams. I also focused on the status of slaves in the Revolutionary War.
