Factors of Stress of Special Educators and Tutors in the Educational Institutions

Abstract:

Autor se ve své diplomové práci zabývá problematikou stresu a syndromu vyhoření u speciálních pedagogů a vychovatelů ve výchovných ústavech. Zaměřuje se i na studium problematiky rizikových a protektivních faktorů a na prevenci stresu a syndromu vyhoření. Cílem diplomové práce je identifikovat a analyzovat rizikové a protektivní faktory, které mohou významně ovlivňovat stres a syndrom vyhoření vychovatelů a speciálních pedagogů výchovných ústavů. Na podkladě této analýzy, která vzniká v rámci výzkumného šetření, jsou pak navrženy možnosti prevence syndromu vyhoření u této skupiny zaměstnanců výchovných ústavů. V teoretické části jsou zpracována témata vztahující se ke zvolené problematice, zejména se jedná o kapitoly týkající se problematiky výchovných ústavů, historie etopedické péče, náročnosti práce ve výchovných ústavech, psychického zatížení vychovatelů a speciálních pedagogů, nároků na psychickou odolnost vychovatelů a speciálních pedagogů výchovných ústavů a v neposlední řadě i problematiky možných rizikových a protektivních faktorů této profese. Praktickou část tvoří výsledky vlastního výzkumného šetření, které je zpracováno formou kvantitativního výzkumu pomocí dotazníku. Tento dotazník je obohacen o otevřené otázky, které poskytují určité kvalitativní údaje. Cílem je zjistit hlavní protektivní i rizikové faktory vychovatelů a speciálních pedagogů ve výchovných ústavech a na tomto podkladě navrhnout možnosti prevence syndromu vyhoření u těchto zaměstnanců. Součástí práce je i přehled výsledků a diskuze, které poskytují jistě zajímavé informace o tom, jak samotní vychovatelé a speciální pedagogové ve výchovných ústavech svou práci vnímají. Jsou zpracovány konkrétní závěry a doporučení pro náročnou praxi ve výchovných ústavech. Dosažené výsledky a stanovená doporučení jsou využitelné v praxi speciálních pedagogů ve výchovných ústavech, přeneseně i v oblasti speciální pedagogiky a dalších disciplín tzv. pomáhajících profesí.

Abstract:

The author of the thesis deals with the stress and burnout syndrome problems of educators and special educators in educational institutes. It also focuses on the study of hazardous and protective factors and the stress and burnout syndrome prevention. The aim of the thesis is to identify and to analyse hazardous and protective factors which might significantly influence the stress and burnout syndrome of the educators and special educators in educational institutes. Based on the analysis in pursuance of the research the author proposes some possible options of the stress and burnout syndrome prevention for this group of employees in educational institutes. In the theoretical part the thesis deals with the topics of educational institutes, etopedic care history, the demanding work in educational institutes, psychological strain of educators and special educators, their psychological endurance and the possible hazardous and protective factors issues in connection with this job. The practical part is formed by the results of the quantitative research in the form of a questionnaire that includes also some open questions providing certain qualitative data. The aim is to find out the main hazardous and protective factors of the educators and special educators in educational institutes and, based on those results, to propose possibilities how to prevent the burnout syndrome of the employees. Another part of the thesis consists of the results review and the discussion providing interesting information about the point of view of the educators and special educators in educational institutes themselves (regarding their job). There are also definite conclusions and recommendations for the demanding practice in educational institutes. The results and recommendations are usable in the special educators' practice in educational institutes, they can be transformed to the area of special pedagogy and other disciplines of so called helping professions.
