Development of cognitive abilities in childern of younger school age

Abstract:

Autorka se bude ve své diplomové práci zabývat rozvojem kognitivních schopností u dětí mladšího školního věku k jejich školní zralosti. Zejména se bude jednat o problematiku dílčích funkcí, narušené komunikační schopnosti a školní zralosti. Jejím cílem bude identifikace, analýza a rozvoj deficitních funkcí u vybraného vzorku předškolních a mladších školních dětí. Důraz bude kladen na standardizované testy, kterými se zjišťuje školní zralost a celkový vývoj dítěte. Praktickou část budou tvořit výsledky vlastního kvantitativního šetření, jehož cílem bude zjistit, zda použitím dvou standardizovaných diagnostických nástrojů, a to Testu rizik poruch čtení a psaní pro rané školáky a Controlled Drawing Observation. Probandi budou rozděleni na dvě skupiny, kontrolní a experimentální, s následkem komparací získaných výsledků testů. Na závěr budou uvedeny konkrétní závěry plynoucí z výzkumného šetření a dosažené výsledky budou využitelné ve speciálně pedagogické praxi a dalších disciplín tzv. pomáhajících profesí.

Abstract:

In her Thesis of Diploma the author will deal with development of cognitive abilities in children of younger schoolage in relation to their school preparedness. We are mainly speaking of partial functions, impaired communication abilities and school preparedness. The aim of the Thesis will be identification, analysis and development of deficite functions in selected sample of preschool and younger school children. Emphasis will be given to standardized tests to assess school preparedness and overall development of child. Practical part will consist of results of own quantitative investigations with the aim to find out whether usage of two standardized diagnostical tools, namely the Test of risk of reading and writing weakenings for early school children and the Controlled Drawing Observation. Tested children will be dividend into two groups, control and experimental group,with subsequent comparison of results achieved. As a conclusion, a statement of specific conclusions resulting from the research will be given and specific reset sachieved will be fully utilizable in the practice of special pedagogy as well as in other disciplines (auxiliary professions).
