Persuasive and manipulative means in war reporting (Doctoral Dissertation Proposition)
Abstract:
Práce se zabývá persvazí a manipulací ve válečném zpravodajství, a to na základě analyzovaných zpravodajských textů z Lidových novin z období války v Perském zálivu (1991) a války v Iráku (2003). Práce obsahuje přehled persvazivních prostředků verbálních (tematických, stylistických, argumentačních a jazykových) a neverbálních (grafických a ideografických).
Abstract:
The work deals with persuasion and manipulation in war reporting, based on analyzed reporting texts from the Czech daily Lidové noviny in the period of the Gulf War (1991) and War in Iraq (2003). The work contains an overview of persuasive verbal means (topical, stylistic, argumentative, linguistic) and non-verbal means (graphic and ideographic).
