Abstract:

Tato práce se zabývá překladem, při kterém spolu nepřímo spolupracuje více osob za použití překladatelských technologií, což je trend, který se v moderním neliterárním překladu stále více projevuje. Hlavním cílem této práce je zanalyzovat použití těchto technologií a jejich dopad na proces překladu i překlad samotný. Teoretická část práce zkoumá roli překladatele spolu s historickými i moderními překladatelskými praktikami, při kterých spolupracuje větší množství jednotlivců, jako jsou například různé způsoby revize překladu. Dále jsou okomentovány překladatelské technologie jako překladové paměti, terminologické databáze a strojový překlad. Nosná část práce je věnována analýze překladatelského procesu podporovaného počítačem. K získání dat vhodných k analýze práce využívá software pro záznam stisků kláves v kombinaci s časovými údaji z překladatelského rozhraní. Na základě této analýzy rozvíjí práce diskuzi ohledně možných důvodů pro chování obou překladatelů, kteří se pokusu účastnili. Dále porovnává oba překladatele mezi sebou a popisuje rozdíly a podobnosti v jejich přístupu k překladu.

Abstract:

The thesis discusses the practice of collaborative translation using translation technology, a trend which modern non-literary translation slowly gravitates towards. The main aim of the thesis is to analyze the use of this technology and its effect on both the translation process and the translation itself. The theoretical part discusses the role of the translator, together with historical and modern collaborative translation practices such as different revision methods. Furthermore, the thesis talks about translation technology represented by translation memories, term bases and machine translation. The largest portion of the thesis is reserved for the analysis of the computer assisted translation process. To obtain data relevant to the analysis, keylogging software is used to record the translator, which is then compared with individual segment timestamps from the CAT tool. Based on this analysis, the thesis builds up a discussion regarding possible reasons for the behavior of both translators participating in the exercise. The similarities and differences between their approaches are discussed as well.
