Structural model of the Trangoška Syncline in Nízke Tatry Mts.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with tectonics of the Trangoška syncline, which is a structure of the Triassic sedimentary rocks in Nízke Tatry Mts. These rocks belong to autochtonous or parautochtonous cover of Tatricum unit of the Central Western Carpathians. Trangoška syncline is preserved in a tectonic zone of E-W direction cutting granitoids and metamorphic rocks of Tatricum crystalline unit. This work analyses structural data (orientation of bedding, cleavage, faults etc.) taken from outcrops of sedimentary and crystalline rocks in the area of Trangoška syncline. Fault structures were used for paleostress analysis. Research reveals that Trangoška syncline is in fact simple stratigraphic sequence overthrusted by granitoids during alpine orogeny. Evidence for this thrust are ductile shear zones parallel to bedding of Mesozoic sediments. Brittle-ductile shear zones are result of younger deformations which created mostly south dipping normal fault which forms most of the northern border of central and eastern part of structure and set of transverse faults which separate the whole Trangoška structure into blocks of different erosional levels.

Abstract:

Práce se věnuje tektonice synklinály Trangošky v Nízkých Tatrách. Tvoří ji triasové sedimentární horniny a jedná se o strukturu obalového mezozoika tatrické jednotky v Centrálních Západních Karpatech. Trangošská synklinála se zachovala v tektonické zóně východo-západního směru, která prochází granitoidy a metamorfními horninami tatrického krystalinika. Strukturní prvky měřené na odkryvech byly zpracovány pomocí metod orientační analýzy. Ze zlomových struktur byla provedena paleonapjatostní analýza. V práci bylo zjištěno, že struktura je výsledkem násunové tektoniky, kdy během křídových alpínských procesů bylo krystalinikum tatrika přesunuto přes sedimenty obalového mezozoika. Táto násunová tektonika vytvořila duktilní střižné zóny rovnoběžné s vrstevnatostí sedimentů. Křehce-duktilní střižné zóny jsou výsledkem mladších deformací, kdy se vytvořily poklesy uklánějící se převážně k jihu. Ty tvoří severní hranici středního a zčásti i východního úseku struktury. Nakonec příčné zlomy rozdělily celou strukturu do bloků vystupujících v různých erozivních řezech.
