Regional characteristics of internal migration in the Czech Republic

Abstract:

Tato práce se zabývá analýzou vnitřní migrace na úrovni krajů v České republice mezi roky 2000 – 2013. Cíle této práce je analýza současného stavu vnitřní migrace v ČR, stanovení jejích příčin a její vazba na infrastrukturu na příkladu Středočeského kraje. V současné době jsou nejčastějšími migranty osoby ve věku 25 – 35 let. Migrační proudy se za posledních třináct let příliš nezměnily, došlo však k obrovskému nárůstu objemu migrace, jehož vrcholem byl rok 2008. Přestože je Hlavní město Praha nejpopulárnější oblastí pro všechny migranty napříč Českou republikou, nejsilnějším migračním proudem je ten vedoucí z Hlavního města Praha do Středočeského kraje. Ukazuje se, že zde působí silné suburbanizační procesy. Bylo prokázáno, že vnitřní migrace v České republice je silně závislá na ekonomické situaci v zemi, a že infrastruktura Středočeského kraje je silně ovlivněna migrací. Nejvíce je to patrné na okresech Praha východ a Praha západ, dvou nejvíce preferovaných okresů pro migraci.

Abstract:

This work focuses on the analysis of internal migration in the Czech Republic at the regional level between the year 2000 and 2013. The aim of this work is analyze the current state of internal migration in the Czech Republic , and their cause and infrastructure links on the example of the Central Bohemia. The analysis of migration shows that in 2013 the highest number of people who migrated were between the ages of 25 and 30. The migration axis in those 13 years did not change significantly, but there was an increase in the volume of migration. The highest increase we can find in year of 2008. Although the City of Prague is the most popular area for all migrants across the Czech Republic, the strongest migration flows is one of the leading between City of Prague and Central bohemia. It turns out that there are cause for serious suburbanisation processes. It has been shown that internal migration in the Czech Republic is heavily dependent on the economic situation in the country, and that the infrastructure of the region is strongly influenced by migration. This is most evident in the districts of Prague East and Prague West, which are two of the most preferred districts during migration.
